Allendale Grand Coney employee receives Hometown Hero Award

Congratulations to Kevin Carlson, the most recent winner of the 91.3 WSCG Hometown Hero Award, a Cornerstone University radio station. Twice each month the radio station selects a “Hometown Hero” from nominations submitted online. The Hometown Hero Award looks for people in the community who deserve recognition for making others’ lives better.

If you’ve ever met Kevin, you’d agree he is the perfect recipient for this award. The Grand Coney team kept the award a secret and Kevin was surprised at work one morning with a personal visit and special on-air recognition from WCSG staff.

“Kevin is a shining example of what you want in an employee, friend and neighbor,” said Liz Nolan, Public Relations Manager for Restaurant Partners Inc and 4GR8Food Brands. “We are lucky to know him and have him be the face our customers see when they come in the door. Definitely an MVP in our organization.”

"It's a pleasure working with Kevin Carlson.  Not only is he a great asset to the Grand Coney, he is an asset to the Allendale community.  Kevin is adored by his fellow team members and our wonderful guests.  He embodies the spirit of hospitality and exemplifies the art of lending a helping hand.  The Grand Coney, the Allendale community and our world is a better place because of Kevin!"  - Jeff Lobdell, Owner, Restaurant Partners, Inc and 4GR8Food Brands.

    WCSG 91.3 Hometown Hero Award:
Congratulations to our latest Hometown Hero, Kevin Carlson of Allendale! Kevin works at a local restaurant serving each guest with eager joy and kindness. After one visit, Kevin perfectly recalls the name of each customer. He scarcely forgets the name of any individual he meets, as his quick smile and friendly demeanor adopts them as a friend. His work ethic is second to none, and he continually goes the extra mile. After hours, Kevin volunteers his time to announce at all the high school athletic events, earning the trust of students who admire him as a role model and friend. He is also a familiar face at his church, where he faithfully serves, no matter how big or small the task. Thank you Kevin, for inspiring your community by giving each and every person the gift of friendship and respect!
