BizStream Honored as One of Michigan’s 50 Companies to Watch
West Michigan Technology Firm Recognized for Astounding Impact on Michigan’s Economy
Allendale, MI, March 14, 2016 — BizStream, a software company that specializes in web design, web development, and building custom software, has been honored to receive the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch Award, sponsored by Michigan Celebrates Small Business.
This year’s award theme is “Inspiring Progress and Prosperity: Michigan Entrepreneurs”. Judges examined companies that are innovative in their fields or business practices, that are achieving growth, and are predicted to have a breakout year in 2016.
To be considered for this award companies must be a privately held commercial enterprise, be past the startup stage and facing issues of growth, not survival, and employ 6-99 full-time employees. Additionally, companies must have between $750,000 and $50 million in annual revenue and be headquartered in Michigan. Companies must also demonstrate the intent and capacity to grow based on the following: employee or sales growth, exhibiting a sustainable competitive advantage, or other notable successes.
BizStream is thrilled to be among the 50 companies selected this year who are making an astounding impact on Michigan’s economy by collectively providing thousands of jobs and contributing millions of dollars of revenue. Mark Schmidt, founder of BizStream, stated “BizStream takes pride in having a strong presence in Michigan. Although we have clients all over the country, and now North America, Michigan will always be our focus and our home. We are strong believers in giving back to the local community, focusing our efforts primarily on youth and education, especially when it comes to technology”. Co-founder, Brian McKeiver shared, “We are proud to be a part of West Michigan’s growing technology industry and hope to continue to attract talent to this side of the state. It is amazing to me to see how specializing in a great technology like Kentico CMS has allowed BizStream to grow from just two people sharing office space with another technology firm in Grand Rapids, to a team of over 20 people building large enterprise class websites for national brands”.
BizStream builds web, online marketing and software solutions that are delivered with a sense of smart, geeky fun. The company specializes in ASP.NET, SQL Server, Kentico CMS and Kentico EMS development. Alongside custom development services, BizStream has 3 Software as a Service (SaaS) products including YouthCenter, CaseStream, and the BizStream Toolkit for Kentico. Founded in 2001, the BizStream team comprises more than 25 developers, designers, digital specialists, support staff, and contractors.
