Better Business Bureau Torch AwardsBBB now accepting nominations for the annual Torch Award for EthicsBy: Katie Grevious, Communications Specialist at the Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan
August 2, 2021 -- The Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan (BBB®) is now accepting applications for the annual BBB Torch Award for Ethics. The award highlights ethical businesses and nonprofits by celebrating those companies in your community who have gone above and beyond to help those in their communities.
“We want to spotlight organizations that are building trust in their communities,” says Phil Catlett, President of the Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan. “People are encouraged to nominate businesses and nonprofits for this award who demonstrate trust and ethics.”
Businesses and nonprofits can also apply for themselves. You do not have to be an accredited business to be considered.
A panel of business and nonprofit leaders will judge the applications and select the winners. Organizations in the Allendale area who receive the award will be celebrated at a ceremony in Grand Rapids later in the year.
“It’s probably one of the most important awards you can win,” says Kim Slager of BHS Insurance, a 2020 Torch Award winner. “It says everything for what our employees do every day which is to strive to be honest and serve with the highest level of integrity.”
More information on the application process, nomination forms, rules & eligibility, and testimonials from past Torch Award winners can be found at bbb.org/wmiawards.
Applications must be submitted by September 30, 2021 to be considered.
