On the Move - City2Shore Gateway Group March 2023

The real estate market in West Michigan is flourishing with new opportunities for home buyers and sellers. Whether you are looking to buy or sell a home, understanding the current market conditions in Allendale, Blendon, Georgetown, Robinson and Polkton/ Coopersville can help you make the best decisions for your needs.
While all of West Michigan is seeing an increase of demand from home buyers, we are only seeing a small increase in sellers who want to sell their home. There is a large backlog of buyers trying to find a new home and that is keeping the sellers’ prices at historical highs.  This is a fantastic time to sell your home or property as the Federal Reserve is likely to raise mortgage interest rates again soon which will cool the buyers down once again as we saw last autumn.
Let’s take a look at what the current real estate market looks like in these cities.
Number of Homes for Sale in Allendale, Blendon, Georgetown, Robinson & Coopersville
In Allendale, there are currently 22 homes on the market. This is up 5% from this time last year. In Blendon there are 4 homes listed for sale which is down 9% compared to 2022. In Georgetown there are 62 homes on the market. In Robinson there are 2 homes on the market. Finally, in Coopersville/Polkton Township there are 3 homes on the market which is down from last year’s numbers.
    Home Values & Trends
Overall, it appears that the real estate markets in Allendale, Blendon, Georgetown, Robinson and Polkton /Coopersville are doing well with significant growth over this time last year for all five townships combined (up 6%). With housing prices rising and a slight increase in available homes on the market it appears that now may be a great time to buy or sell a home in these areas of West Michigan! If you're interested in selling or buying a home here, make sure you stay informed about current trends so that you can make an informed decision when it comes time to list or purchase your property!
