Quarterly Member Breakfast - March 20...Description
Streamlining the Education Path for the Workforce of the Future
The Allendale Area Chamber of Commerce is committed to encouraging higher education as an economic development tool and is pleased to host Liz Pellegrom, the Coopersville/Allendale College Access Network Coordinator, as our keynote speaker.
CACAN recently received a grant of $60,000 from the Michigan Collage Access Network to implement a program to remove barriers so more students can continue their training and education beyond high school. CACAN's work over many years will be to improve student ACT scores, increase financial readiness, increase college applications and the number of people enrolling in post-secondary education. In turn, our workers in Michigan should be more prepared to meet the demand from industry for more skilled, knowledgeable employees.
This is all part of a national goal supported by Governor Snyder to increase the proportion of Americans with high-quality college degrees, certificates, or other credentials to 60% BY 2025.
